Our vision
A Commonwealth where our air and water are clean, our economy is a dynamic engine of shared prosperity, and our government is a just, compassionate, and effective force for good. We believe a Democratic majority in the state legislature is the most effective vehicle to achieve this vision.
The landscape
In the 2024 elections, a staggering 40% of legislative races went completely uncontested. This is not just a political problem — it is a crisis of infrastructure. Dozens of seats are being lost not on Election Day, but on filing day.
Our answer
A disciplined, professional, and aggressive organization will exploit this vacuum. Kentucky Forward is the permanent, year-round machine dedicated to identifying talent, building a deep bench of candidates, and giving them the resources to compete and win in every corner of the Commonwealth.
What we are, and how we're funded
Kentucky Forward operates in two parts. Kentucky Forward is a nonprofit social welfare organization under IRC § 501(c)(4). It does the year-round work: research, issue advocacy, and building public support for a stronger Commonwealth. Kentucky Forward PAC is a separate political action committee that supports candidates directly.
We're funded by contributions from individuals who want a functioning, competitive politics in Kentucky. Contributions are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. Contributions to the PAC's traditional account from corporations, labor unions, federal contractors, and foreign nationals are prohibited, and federal law requires us to report the name, address, occupation, and employer of anyone who gives more than $200 in a calendar year.
